To hard push coal sales, Coal India Limited (CIL) has now decided to conduct long term forward Special E-auctions for power producers with flexible lifting period of upto three years.
As heard, CIL is going to soon notify the dates and offer pertaining to the auction.
The tardy demand for coal in India is expected to undergo reversal as power consumption is showing signs of going up.
The flexible lifting scheme will also benefit existing power plants, which do not have any coal linkage. As a matter of fact, 75-77% of CIL production is consumed by the power segment.
