India: Ramco Cements’ Pandalgudi limestone mine earns biodiversity certification

Ramco Cements’ Pandalgudi limestone mine in Tamil Nadu has received Advanced Certification from The Global Biodiversity Standard. The 234-acre site has seen over 430,000 native trees and shrubs planted across 150 species since 2018. The restored mine has recorded 72 bird and 53 butterfly species, with estimated carbon capture of around 10,000 t of CO2 over seven years.
