Iron Pellet Trade Log: Week 03, 2017

Domestic pellet market in India witnessed mixed response this week. While on one side, Barbil and Jamshedpur pellet offers increased up to INR 250/MT W-o-W. On the other side, Durgapur pellet prices have noticed minor correction of INR 100/MT.

Thin trade activities in domestic market were reported this week.

Trade-wise:

1. Rashi Steel & Power (Bilaspur) is offering pellets at INR 4,700-4,800/MT (ex-plant). The company booked 10,000 MT pellets for Bilaspur based plant at INR 4,700/MT (ex-plant).

2.Rourkela based pellet maker – Shri Mahavir ferro Alloys keeps offers unchanged at INR 4,400/MT.

3. A Durgapur based pellet maker sold nearly 8,000 MT pellets at INR 4,600/MT (basic).

Barbil* 63 4,500 +250 JSPL has raised pellet offers from INR 4,200-4,300/MT (loaded to wagons)
 to INR 4,500/MT (loaded to wagons). Arya Iron & Steel is still not quoting
offers in domestic market. 
Jharsuguda 63 4,700 = Shyam Metaliks & Energy continues to hold offers. 
The company sold 3,000 MT pellets at INR 4,700/MT 
to a Raigarh based plant.
Durgapur 63 4,600 -100 Stability in P-DRI prices since past one week resulted in
limited pellet trade activities. Buyers negotiations resulted in drop
of INR 100/MT in Durgapur pellet offers. Rashmi Metaliks is not giving
offers in domestic market.
Jamshedpur 63 4,200 +100 Adhunik Metaliks has raised pellet offers by INR 100/MT W-o-W. 
Raipur 63 4,700-4,800 = Raipur pellet manufacturers are hopeful that increasing P-DRI prices
will support pellet offers. P-DRI prices in Raipur have touched INR 15,000/MT. 
However traders shared that presently deals are getting concluded at INR 100-200/MT lower than current offers.
Bellary 63 5,800-5,900 = Bellary pellet offers remain stable this week.
