  • Higher raw material costs support Oct’26 price hikes
  • Firmer global prices strengthen mill’s pricing power

Taiwan’s leading steelmaker, China Steel Corporation (CSC), has raised domestic prices for October 2026 sales. Prices of hot-rolled coils (HRC), cold-rolled coils (CRC), and hot-rolled plates were increased by TWD 600/t ($19/t) m-o-m, while prices of hot-dip galvanised (HDG) and electro-galvanised (EG) steel coils were raised by TWD 500/t ($16/t).

For the October-December 2026 sales period, CSC raised prices of thick plates, including shipbuilding grades, by TWD 500/t ($16/t), while HDG and EG steel coils increased by TWD 600/t ($19/t). Prices of medium-low-grade electrical steel were also raised by TWD 500/t ($16/t), whereas high-grade electrical steel prices remained unchanged.

CSC kept prices unchanged for bars and wire rods, medium-high-carbon and tool steel HRC and CRC, and automotive steel.

The price adjustments reflect higher metallurgical coal costs and a firmer global steel pricing environment. Rising crude oil prices have also increased transportation and logistics costs.
