- Tight material availability supports market
- Offers reach INR 380,000/t ($3,978/t) exw levels
India’s ferro titanium prices increased by INR 5,000/t ($52/t) w-o-w to INR 370,000/t ($3,874/t) exw-India. Market sentiment remained firm, supported by steady domestic demand and elevated titanium scrap costs.
India’s stainless steel finished market too continued to strengthen during the week, supported by firm raw material costs, limited availability and steady domestic demand. Tight stainless scrap availability and higher freight costs also reduced the attractiveness of imports, providing further support to domestic prices.
In China, ferro titanium market sentiment remained stable but subdued, with ample raw-material availability and steady smelter operations keeping prices largely unchanged. Weak downstream demand, low mill operating rates and just-in-time procurement continued to limit trading activity, keeping supply and demand broadly balanced.
We expect India’s ferro titanium prices to remain firm in the coming week, supported by tight availability and resilient stainless steel demand.
