Bhushan Steel – a major integrated steel maker has reduced its monthly iron ore & pellet sourcing by 18% in Dec’16. After raising iron ore & pellet sourcing continuously for past three months since Sept’16, steel maker’s iron ore & pellet sourcing has witnessed decline in Dec’16.
Its iron ore sourcing moved down from 0.49 MnT in Nov’16 to 0.42 MnT in Dec’16. Out of 0.42 MnT iron ore procured last month, 0.21 MnT was from Indrani Patnaik mines (down 9% M-o-M).
Steel maker’s iron ore sourcing from Rungta Mines declined by 18% M-o-M from 0.11 MnT in Nov’16 to 0.09 MnT in Dec’16. Iron ore sourcing from OMC moved down sharply to 0.02 MnT in Dec’16. The company sourced 0.05 MnT iron ore from KJS Ahluwalia mines in Dec’16 compared to 0.04 MnT in Nov’16.
Bhushan steel’s pellet procurement also witnessed decline in Dec’16 and it procured 14 rakes against 21 rakes in Nov’16. 13 rakes were sourced from JSPL and one rake was sourced from Arya Iron & Steel.
