Russia, the 8th largest iron ore exporter has around 1.42 MnT iron ore exported in Nov’16, according to the trade statistics released by Russian Customs.
Iron ore exports have witnessed a decrease of 23% M-o-M as it was 1.84 MnT in Oct’16. Compared with the numbers for the month of Nov’15 Russia’s iron ore export has seen a significant increase of 22% on Y-o-Y basis.
In the first 11 months of 2016, the country exported 16.46 MnT iron ore, down by 15% as it was 19.29 MnT in the same consecutive period last year.
In Nov’16, the agglomerated iron ore (pellets and concentrate) exports were recorded at 0.55 MnT, down by 31.9% M-o-M and up by 62% Y-o-Y. The non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps & fines) exports were registered at 0.87 MnT, down by 16.23% M-o-M and up by 6.24% Y-o-Y.
Russia iron ore exports are chiefly directed to China followed by Turkey, Slovakia, Poland, Netherlands, etc. In Nov’16, exports to China were recorded at 0.52 MnT, Turkey 0.20 MnT, Slovakia 0.16 MnT, Poland 0.11 MnT, Netherlands 0.08 MnT etc.
