The 5th largest iron ore exporter Canada has exported 3.97 MnT iron ore in Nov’16 as per trade statistics released by Canadian Customs.
Iron ore exports have registered a growth of 10% M-o-M as exports were around 3.61 MnT in Oct’16. Similarly country’s iron ore exports have increased 62% Y-o-Y basis for the same month in 2015.
In the first eleven months of 2016, the country exported 38.07 MnT iron ore, up by 12% as the export was 33.99 MnT in the same consecutive period last year.
In Nov’16, the agglomerated iron ore (pellets and concentrate) exports were registered at 1.62 MnT up 18%, considerably higher compared to Oct’16 which was at 1.33 MnT. However, were significantly up by 157% as it was 0.63 MnT in Nov’15.
The non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps & fines) exports were registered at 2.35 MnT in Nov’16, marginally up by 3% as it was 2.29 MnT in Oct’16. Compared with Nov’15 non-agglomerated iron ore exports of 1.41 MnT this year, it stood at 2.35 MnT which was considerably higher by 67%
1. Japan was the largest iron ore importer for the month at 0.65 MnT iron ore jumping 113.1% in Nov’16 against 0.30 MnT in Oct’16. The nation imported 0.52 MnT iron ore in Nov’15.
2. Netherlands was the second largest importer among the countries importing 0.60 MnT iron ore against 0.37 MnT in Oct’16 up by 61.3% M-o-M. The nation had imported 0.17 MnT iron ore in the month of Nov’15.
3. China turned out to be the third largest iron ore importer at 0.49 MnT for the month of Nov’16, down 57.4% as it was 1.16 MnT in Oct’16. The nation had imported 0.56 MnT iron ore in Nov’15.
