Odisha: Iron Ore Dispatch of Merchant Mines’ Down 8% in Dec’16

Iron ore dispatch by Odisha based merchant mines fell further last month and was recorded at 5.42 MnT against 5.89 MnT in Nov’16. This is for the 2nd consecutive month that Odisha merchant mine’s iron ore dispatches have witnessed downturn. Iron ore dispatch fell owing to lesser procurement by sponge manufacturers owing to curtailed production post currency demonetization.

Among Odisha’s merchant iron ore miners – Rungta Mines dispatched highest quantity of ore followed by Serajuddin Mines and KJS Ahluwalia.

Rungta Mines’ iron ore dispatches fell 14% M-o-M to 1.40 MnT in Dec’16 compared to 1.63 MnT in Nov’16.

Serajuddin Mines dispatched 0.89 MnT iron ore in Dec’16 compared to 1 MnT in Nov’16, down 11% M-o-M. Iron ore dispatches of KJS Ahluwalia stood at 0.61 MnT in Dec’16, down 15% M-o-M.

Iron ore dispatches of state owned miner – OMC fell 13% M-o-M to 0.35 MnT in Dec’16.
