As per the Turkish customs data, Flat steel imports which includes 7208 (HR coils/Plates),7209 (CR coils) , 7225 (electrical sheets) and 7210/7212 (GP/GC) have registered a growth of 5.4% M-o-M basis in Nov’16 to 0.58 MnT against previous month. In Oct’16 the imports stood at 0.55 MnT.
On yearly basis flat steel imports of Turkey plunged by 15% in Nov’16 as compared to Nov’15.In Nov’15 the same stood at 0.68 MnT.
During the time span of Jan to Nov 2016, Turkey’s flat steel imports surged by 4.3% to 7.2 MnT in contrast to 6.9 MnT in similar time frame of previous year.
In Nov’16, Turkey majorly imported flat steel from Russia at 0.11 MnT, France at 0.07 MnT followed by Japan, South Korea and Germany.
