India’s rice vessel line-up stood at 1,355,647 mnt with cargo scheduled across major loading ports, including Kandla, Kakinada, Chennai and Vizag. The shipment programme comprises 5% parboiled (PB), bagged rice, and 100% white rice, with exports scheduled to multiple destinations.
Benin accounts for the largest scheduled shipment volume
Benin accounted for the highest scheduled shipment volume at 608,765 t, with cargo scheduled from Kandla, Chennai and Kakinada. The consignments comprise 5% PB and bagged rice. Mozambique ranked second with 116,592 t of bagged rice scheduled from Kandla.
Further scheduled shipments include:
70,000 t of 5% PB and 100% white rice to Ivory Coast from Kakinada, 54,450 t of bagged rice to Iran from Kandla, 44,000 t of 5% PB rice to Guinea from Kakinada, 31,750 t of bagged rice to Yemen from Kandla, 29,400 t of bagged rice to Somalia from Kandla, 15,900 t of 5% PB rice to Nigeria from Kakinada, 12,000 t of 100% white rice to Sierra Leone from Kakinada, and 9,340 t of bagged rice to Saudi Arabia from Kandla. The ‘Others’ category accounted for 363,450 with shipments scheduled through Vizag, Kandla and Kakinada. The cargo comprises 5% PB, 100% white rice and bagged rice.
Kandla remains a key loading port
Port-wise scheduling shows Kandla handling shipments to Benin, Mozambique, Iran, Yemen, Saudi Arabia and the ‘Others’ category.
Kakinada is scheduled to load cargo for Benin, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Nigeria, Sierra Leone and the ‘Others’ category, while Chennai is scheduled to load cargo for Benin. Vizag contributes to shipments under the ‘Others’ category.
Broad exporter participation across scheduled shipments
The scheduled shipments involve a wide base of exporters across destinations. Benin has the largest exporter pool, including Balaji Rice, Sree Murali Mohana, ABGT Rice Mills, Olam Agri and LDC. Mozambique shipments involve Maya Agri Impex, HRMM Agro, ABGT Rice Mills, Mahavir Global. OMM Agro, Olam Agri and Reliance Retail are listed for Ivory Coast. Other destinations, including Iran, Guinea, Yemen, Somalia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone and Saudi Arabia, also feature exporters such as Mahavir Global, Drrk Foods, Pattabhi Agro, HRMM Agro, KPR Mill, Long Gulf Trading, Gurudeo Exports, MRMC Rice Mills and others.
Outlook
India’s rice export pipeline strengthened to 1.36 million t, from 1.19 million t in the previous week. The increase was mainly driven by higher scheduled shipments to Benin, Mozambique and Ivory Coast, with Benin rising by 218,000 t to 608,765 t. The addition of Somalia, Sierra Leone and Saudi Arabia further broadened the destination base, indicating higher near-term export activity, particularly across African markets.
