Recent trade statistics released by Brazil Customs show that Brazil has exported around 35.12 MnT iron ore in Dec’16. Iron ore exports have increased by 12% in Dec’16 against 31.4 MnT in Nov’16.
Brazilian iron ore export volumes in the month of Dec’16 also decreased by 11% Y-o-Y. In 2016, the country exported 374 MnT iron ore, up by 2% as it was 366.7 MnT in 2015.
The average export price for Brazilian iron ore in Dec’16 was around USD 50.4/MT, FoB Brazil, up by USD 11.1/MT from Nov’16 as it was USD 39.2/MT, FoB Brazil. However, on Y-o-Y basis, average export prices rose by USD 18/MT against USD 32.3/MT, FoB Brazil in Dec’15.
