Mineral sales details of 17 miners to be verified

Bhubaneswar: The state government has ordered verification of the sale-tax reports of as many as 17 miners including biggies like OMC, Essel Mining, Rungta & Sons, Sirazuddin & co., KJS Ahluwalia.


The sales tax department has issued an order after it had found discrepancies between the reports provided by Indrani Pattnaik mines to the mines department and the Sale Tax department. In its report filed before the mines department (Form-F) in the month if June, the miner has said that it has sold minerals amounting 81.77 crore. On the other hand the same miner in its information provided in the '201 VAT form-column-40' to the Sale tax department has stated that it has sold only 26.06 crore. Therefore the differences of amounts between the two in the same month has been found at Rs.55 crore 70 lakh. 


Subsequently, the tax authorities of the Sundargarh, Jajpur, Bhubaneswar and Baleswar ranges have been asked for a detailed verification of the sales reports of 17 miners including Essel Mining, Rungta &Sons, Rungta Mines, Sirazuddin & co., KJS Ahluwalia, Mangilal Rungta,Kalinga Mining Corporation,OMC,Aryan Mining and tradingCo, Odisha Manganese and Minerals ,Lal Traders and Agencies. The taxmen would verify the information provided on amount of sales and VAT paid by the lessees in both the forms i.e Form-F of mines Department and VAT 201 form of the sales tax department.
