PELLEX, BigMint’s bi-weekly domestic pellet (Fe 63%) index for Raipur, rose by INR 250/t to INR 10,100/t ($105/t) DAP. Deals for around 19,000 t of pellets were recorded by Raipur-based sellers at INR 9,700/t exw at previous offers in this publishing window.
Indian sponge iron prices across key regions increased by INR 100-600/t d-o-d, supported by need-based demand and firm seller sentiment. BigMint recorded a sponge iron trade volume of around 22,650 t.
BigMint’s billet index extended its upward trend, increasing by INR 250/t d-o-d to INR 38,500/t exw-Raipur. The conversion spread between pellet-based direct reduced iron (PDRI) and billets for standalone induction furnaces in the Raipur cluster narrowed further to INR 13,500/t.
