With the recent trade statistics released by various major Global Pig iron exporters and importers, it is legible that in first 10 months of 2016, Pig iron exports witnessed a downfall of 10% Y-o-Y, where as Pig iron imports grew higher by 33% in the same period.

Russia: The largest Pig iron exporter, Russia exported 4.25 MnT during first 10 months of 2016, registered a growth of 3.4% Y-o-Y as it was 4.11 MnT in the same consecutive period last year. Major importers for Russian Pig iron were USA (2.05 MnT), Italy (0.52 MnT), Spain (0.38 MnT), Turkey (0.27 MnT) and Taiwan (0.26 MnT).
Brazil: With 1.79 MnT of Pig iron exported during first 10 month of 2016, the nation witnessed a downfall of 21% Y-o-Y. The nation imported 2.27 MnT during first 10 months of 2016. Largest importers were USA (0.68 MnT), Netherlands (0.29 MnT), Peru (0.15 MnT), Mexico (0.26 MnT) etc.
South Africa: The nation reported a decline of 34% to 0.25 MnT during first 10 months of 2016 against 0.38 MnT during the same consecutive months in 2015. Major importers were USA (0.08 MnT), Netherlands (0.05 MnT), Italy (0.02 MnT), South Korea (0.01 MnT) and Taiwan (0.01 MnT).
India: With total exports of 0.12 MnT, India registered a sharp downfall of 68% during first 10 months of 2016 compared to 0.38 MnT in the same time period in 2015. Major importers were Chittagong (0.05 MnT)and Thailand (0.07 MnT).

USA: The largest Pig iron importer, USA imported 3.44 MnT during first 10 months of 2016, registered a downfall of 14% against 3.99 MnT during the same period in 2015. Major exporters to USA were Russia (1.95 MnT), Brazil (0.66 MnT), Ukraine (0.64 MnT), South Africa (0.07 MnT), Latvia (0.05 MnT) Switzerland (0.05 MnT), and Canada (0.01 MnT).
Italy: With total of 1.31 MnT of Pig iron imports during first 10 months of 2016, the nation’s imports witnessed a growth of 4% as it was 1.26 MnT in the same time frame last year.
Turkey: 0.95 MnT Pig iron was imported by Turkey during first 10 months of 2016; registered a growth of 8% compared to 0.88 MnT during same months in 2015. Major exporters were Ukraine (0.56 MnT), Russia (0.34 MnT) and South Korea (0.03 MnT).
South Korea: The country imported 0.30 MnT during first 10 months of 2016, registered a downfall of 19% in contrast to 0.37 MnT during the same consecutive months in 2015. Major exporters were Russia (0.18 MnT), China (0.07 MnT), Veitnam (0.01 MnT) and Malaysia (0.01 MnT).
