Beijing, July 15, 2026 – BigMint (India) and SteelDaily (South Korea) have exchanged signed copies of a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the sidelines of the Asia Steel Forum 2026, held in Beijing.
As part of the agreement, both organisations will establish a dedicated “Global Intelligence Desk” on their respective platforms, enabling the seamless exchange of price and market intelligence.
The partnership addresses a long-standing gap in the India-Korea steel trade corridor. India is the world’s second-largest steel producer, and Korea ranks among the global top ten, with trade flows running in both directions: Korean HRC and coated-steel exports are a key input for India’s auto and appliance sectors, while Indian iron ore and HRC export offers directly influence Korean mill procurement decisions. Despite this two-way dependence, market participants on each side have historically had to track the other’s pricing and policy environment without a reliable, direct source.
Under the new arrangement, BigMint’s platform will carry SteelDaily’s Korean price indices alongside market news centred on Korea, while SteelDaily’s platform will similarly carry BigMint’s Indian steel and raw materials price assessments and market commentary, giving each side’s readers a direct view into the other market. Both companies plan to expand the range of price indicators and news shared over time, in line with market conditions and user demand.
BigMint and Steel & Steel, which publishes SteelDaily, have been exchanging steel news and market information with each other since signing a strategic alliance in 2024. The new MoU strengthens and expands that relationship, moving beyond the existing exchange of articles to establish dedicated information spaces on each other’s platforms and regularly linked price databases.
