- DGTR schedules virtual hearing on 6 August as investigation enters the next phase
- Interested parties invited to submit written arguments following the hearing
The Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has scheduled an oral hearing in its anti-dumping investigation into imports of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) films originating in or exported from Bangladesh, China, and Thailand. The hearing will be held virtually through digital video conferencing (DVC) at 3:30 pm (IST) on 6 August 2026, marking the next procedural stage in the ongoing trade remedy investigation.
According to the notification issued on 13 July 2026, the Webex meeting link and participation details will be shared separately with registered interested parties via e-mail. Participants intending to attend the hearing have been requested to submit their organisation details, contact information and the names of authorised representatives well in advance of the scheduled hearing.
Following the hearing, parties presenting their views will be required to submit confidential and non-confidential written submissions, along with rejoinders, within the prescribed timelines. The non-confidential version of these submissions must also be circulated simultaneously to all registered interested parties, in line with DGTR’s investigation procedures.
The oral hearing provides domestic producers, exporters, importers, users and other registered stakeholders an opportunity to present their arguments before the investigating authority prior to the subsequent stages of the anti-dumping investigation. The hearing forms part of DGTR’s due process for examining evidence and stakeholder representations before arriving at its findings.
The latest notification is procedural in nature and does not indicate any preliminary or final determination regarding the imposition of anti-dumping duties on PET film imports from the countries under investigation. Market participants are expected to closely monitor subsequent filings and DGTR’s next procedural steps as the investigation progresses.
