Italy, the world’s second largest Pig iron importer has imported 147,606 MT Pig iron in Sept’16 according to trade statistics released by European Union Customs .
Italy Pig iron imports have registered a growth of 16% M-o-M in Sept’16 against 127,688 MT in Aug’16. On similar lines, imports increased by 5% Y-o-Y against 140,093 MT in Sept’15.
In the first nine months of 2016, the country’s imports were registered at 1.18 MnT, up by 4% as compared to 1.13 MnT in the same time period prior this year.
Country’s imports majority of Pig iron from Russia, Ukraine, Brazil etc. In Sept’16, imports from Russia was registered at 57,280 MT, from Ukraine it was 70,445 MT and from Brazil imports remained at 10,920 MT.
