Nepal: Rebar, wire rod prices fall amid weak construction activity

Nepal’s rebar market remained under pressure this week, with trade prices declining by NPR 500/t w-o-w to NPR 77,000/t ($506/t) for cash transactions and NPR 79,000-81,000/t ($516-529/t) for bank guarantee deals. Market sentiment remained cautious amid subdued construction activity and weak buying interest. Meanwhile, IF-EAF wire rod prices also softened, with offers heard at around $520/t CNF Raxaul, reflecting weakness in steel demand.
