India’s iron ore production is witnessing significant augmentation in this fiscal. In Oct’16, India’s iron ore production was recorded at 15.9 MnT against 12.8 MnT in Sept’16.
On yearly basis, (i.e. compared to Oct’15), Indian iron ore production has exhibited growth of 9%.
So far in this fiscal, (till Oct’16) India’s iron ore production summed up to 100 MnT, up by 25% Y-o-Y. From Apr’15-Oct’15, India’s iron ore production was recorded at 80 MnT.
Iron ore production in Odisha increased by 29% M-o-M from 6.74 MnT in Sept’16 to 8.67 MnT in Oct’16. Rungta Mines (Odisha) produced 2.5 MnT iron ore in Oct’16. From Apr-Oct’16, iron ore production in Odisha stood at 50.75 MnT compared to 39.62 MnT in the same period last fiscal.
NMDC’s iron ore production increased by 28% M-o-M from 2.24 MnT in Sept’16 to 2.87 MnT in Oct’16. Out of 2.87 MnT iron ore produced by NMDC in Oct’16, 1.8 MnT was produced from Chhattisgarh mines and rest 1.07 MnT was produced from its mines in Karnataka.
