UltraTech Cement has deployed 45 electric heavy-duty trucks, each with a 55-tonne payload capacity, to transport clinker from its Kotputli Cement Works in Rajasthan to grinding units in Dadri and Sikandarabad, covering a lead distance of around 250 km. The initiative is expected to reduce over 8,900 t of carbon dioxide emissions annually and displace nearly 2.9 million litres of diesel consumption, supporting decarbonisation of cement logistics.
