PELLEX, BigMint’s bi-weekly domestic pellet (Fe 63%) index for Raipur, decreased by INR 300/t to INR 9,300/t ($98/t) DAP. One deal for around 5,000 t of pellets was recorded by BigMint in this publishing window, concluded by a local pellet producer at INR 9,100/t exw Raipur.
BigMint’s billet index edged up by INR 100/t d-o-d to INR 38,800/t exw-Raipur, supported by the recent industrial power tariff hike announced by the Chhattisgarh State Electricity Regulatory Commission, effective 1 July 2026. The conversion spread from sponge iron (PDRI) to billets for standalone induction furnaces in Raipur was assessed at INR 14,750/t.
Indian sponge iron prices remained largely stable d-o-d across regions, with only marginal corrections of INR 50-200/t reported in select eastern markets. In the benchmark Raipur market, prices edged up by INR 50/t to INR 24,050/t ex-works. Total sponge iron trade volumes were at around 8,600 t.
