Iron ore imports have witnessed a downfall of 10% M-o-M as it was 0.86 MnT in Sept’16. On the similar lines, Turkey iron ore imports dropped down by 21% Y-o-Y as it was 0.98 MnT in Oct’15.
During the first 10 months of 2016, the country imported 8.50 MnT iron ore, remained stable as compared to the same period prior this year.
The non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps and fines) import in Oct’16 was registered at 0.38 MnT, significantly down by 12% M-o-M and up by 31% Y-o-Y. On contrary, the agglomerated ore (pellets and concentrates) import was registered at 0.39 MnT, down by 9% M-o-M and 43% Y-o-Y.
Country’s iron ore imports is majorly directed from Brazil, Russia, Sweden and Ukraine. In Oct’16, the country imports 0.34 MnT from Brazil, 0.14 MnT from Russia, 0.08 MnT from Sweden and 0.22 MnT iron ore from Ukraine.
