Met Coke imports into India during Nov’16 declined by 30.35% over that in Oct’16, according to data compiled by CoalMint Research. The decline was due to the wait-and-watch mode adopted by the buyers in the country on account of the uncertainty prevailed before imposition of the Anti dumping Duty.
During Nov’16, 0.39 MnT of Met Coke was imported into India and that was lower than the quantity of 0.56 MnT, imported in Oct’16.

A region-wise assessment shows that imports from Australia during the month constituted the highest share in the total import volume during the month; followed by that from China and Japan.

Among the various ports in the country, the Mormugao port had handled the highest import traffic during the month under consideration; followed by the Hazira and Vizag ports.
