As per the latest customs data, Japanese steel imports jumped by 2.7 % M-o-M basis to 0.38 MnT in Oct’16 against 0.37 MnT in Sep’16. However, if yearly analysis is done, then the nation’s imports have registered a significant fall of 5% and stood at 0.40 MnT in Oct’15.
In the first ten months (Jan-Oct) of 2016, country’s steel imports declined by 1.9% to 3.53 MnT against the corresponding period of previous year.
Japan’s steel Exports fell marginally in Oct’16
Japanese steel exports registered a downfall of 1.7% ,Y-o-Y basis to 3.37 MnT against the corresponding month of previous year. The same stood at 3.43 MnT in 2015.
However, if M-o-M analysis is done, then country’s exports registered a marginal fall of 0.5% in Oct ‘16 against 3.39 MnT in Sep’16.
During the period of ten months from (Jan-Oct 2016) the country’s total steel output is 34.57 MnT which is up by 0.66% against 34.8 MnT in same time frame of previous year.
