SteelMint has heard from the market sources that stockist/ traders based in Delhi/ NCR prefer to buy rebar from Durgapur compare to Raipur/Raigarh owing to better viability at present.
Most of rebar manufacturers based in Raipur are offering at INR 25,400-25,600/MT (basic price) for 10-25 mm material. While, manufacturers based in Durgapur are offering at INR 24,400-24,900/MT for the same size material. It means price gap between both the market hovers in the range of INR 500-700/MT.
Also, few large manufacturers/ premium brands based in Raipur are offering at about INR 26,900/MT (basic price) for 12-25mm material.
Road freight from Raipur to Delhi/ NCR and Durgapur to Delhi/NCR is almost similar which is about INR 2,500/MT.
As per the market participants, a few large rebar manufacturer based in North India that is Rathi brand is offering for Delhi/ NCR to about INR 30,300/MT (basic price) for 12-25mm.
A well known manufacturer based in Raipur stated, “Sales of rebar is not very strong from the last two days, but still we are expecting prices to remain firm in the coming month”.
