Chinese manufacturers have reduced the plate export offers by USD 5-10/MT W-o-W as the prices slump in the domestic market. The country’s domestic market remains uncertain this week which lead to fall in plate export offers.
Last week plate export offers from China are assessed in the range of USD 435-440/MT. However, as the domestic market retreat, prices moved down to USD 430-435/MT, FoB basis.
Current prices of plates in domestic market are registered at RMB 3,150-3,180 (USD 464-467),ex work basis.
China’s domestic market has become quite volatile and eventually buying activities remain sparse this week as the overseas buyers are anticipating further decline in Chinese export offers.
Meanwhile, higher coking coal and iron ore prices is pushing the Chinese manufacturers to further raise the plate prices. Prices are likely to increase to certain level but will stabilize as raw material cost starts decreasing.
