Global Slab Export Offers Up by USD 10/MT,W-o-W

Slab  export  offers  in  the  seaborne  countries  increases  this  week  owing  to  higher coking  coal  prices.Some  deals  are  reported  at  the  higher  prices. Export  offers  from CIS  countries  are  heard  to  be  in  the  range  of  USD  385-390/MT, FoB  Black Sea.

Export  offers  surges  due  to  higher  raw  material  cost  and  limited  availability. Whereas export  offers  from  Latin  America  are  hovering  in  the  range  of  USD 360-370/MT.

Brazil  one  of  largest  exporter  of  slabs  has  exported  4.81  MnT  of  slabs  in  duration  of Jan-Oct  2016  against  5.43 MnT  in  the  same  period  of  2015. Hence,  Brazilian  slab export  offers  are  assessed  at  USD 375-385/MT, FoB  Brazil.

Although  import  offers  from  South  East  Asian  Countries  are  reported  at  USD 360-370/MT,CFR  basis.

Currently,  there  are   no   firm   offers   from   Indian   manufacturers. But   participants  mention  that  prices   will   not   be   less   than  USD  355-360/MT,  FoB India.
