Indian Iron Ore Production Increases by 26% Y-o-Y in H1 FY17

India’s iron ore production has witnessed significant augmentation in this fiscal. In first half of this fiscal, i.e. H1 FY17 India’s iron ore production was recorded at 84 MnT.

The figure is up by 26% Y-o-Y as country’s iron ore production in the same period last fiscal stood at 66.8 MnT.

On monthly premises, India’s iron ore production has moved up by 11.4% in Sept’16. India’s iron ore production was recorded at 12.8 MnT in Sept’16 compared to 11.49 MnT in Aug’16.

Iron ore production in Odisha marked notable increase in first half of this fiscal. In H1 FY17, 42.1 MnT iron ore was produced from Odisha based mines against 31.8 MnT in the same period last financial year. Thus an yearly growth of 32% can be observed.

NMDC’s iron ore production from Chhattisgarh as well as in Karnataka have shown increase in this fiscal. NMDC’s iron ore production in H1 FY17 stood at 13.93 MnT compared to 12.37 MnT in the same period previous fiscal. Thus miner’s production has improved by 13% Y-o-Y.
