According to the latest data released by Brazilian customs, Brazil slab export fell by 19% in Oct ‘16 as compared to Sep’16. The same stood at 0.46 MnT in Sep ‘16 against 0.57 MnT in Oct ‘16.
If Y-o-Y comparison is made,the Brazil has exported 0.46 MnT in Oct’16 down by 4% as compared to corresponding month of previous year.
Brazil is one of the largest exporter of slab. The country has shipped 4.81 MnT of slabs in Jan-Oct 2016 against 5.43 MnT in the same period of 2015.
Meanwhile, United States is the largest buyer of Brazilian slab and has exported 1.82 MnT in the month of Oct ‘16 followed by Turkey which stands at 0.47 MnT and Indonesia at 0.42 MnT.
Recently, slab export offers from Brazil are assessed at USD 350-360,FoB Brazil.Whereas offers from South East Asian countries are heard to be in the range of USD 370-380, CFR basis

Although,Indian manufacturers mention the slab export offers will not be less than USD 350-355/MT FoB India.
