Nepal: Rebar prices rise despite weak retail demand and cost pressure

Nepal’s rebar prices rose by NPR 2,000/t ($13) w-o-w to NPR 87,000–89,000/t ($573-586) for cash deals, while prices for bank guarantee sales reached NPR 89,000–91,000/t ($586-599). The global oil crisis raised raw material and manufacturing costs, increasing prices, while demand remains weak. Meanwhile, IF–EAF wire rod prices increased by around $5/t to nearly $570/t CNF Raxaul.
