Russia, the 8th largest iron ore exporter has exported around 1.35 MnT iron ore in Sept’16, according to the trade statistics released by Russian Customs.
Iron ore exports have witnessed a downfall of 10% M-o-M as it was 1.50 MnT in Aug’16. On similar lines, Russian iron ore export has decreased significantly by 33% on Y-o-Y basis.
In the first nine months of 2016, the country exported 13.2 MnT iron ore, down by 20.4% as it was 16.61 MnT in the same consecutive period last year.
In Sept’16, the agglomerated iron ore (pellets and concentrate) exports were recorded at 0.70 MnT, down by 0.82% M-o-M and up by 126% Y-o-Y. The non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps & fines) exports were registered at 0.65 MnT, down by 4% M-o-M and 62% Y-o-Y .
Country’s iron ore exports are majorly directed towards the China followed by Turkey, Poland, Netherlands etc. In Sept’16, exports to China was recorded at 0.19 MnT, Turkey 0.25 MnT, Poland 0.11 MnT, Netherlands 0.13 MnT etc.
