Indian Pig Iron prices remained firm in current week but steadily inquires have increased amid rising billet prices; as per market reports.
Currently, domestic offers for steel grade pig iron are prevailing in the range of INR 20,500-21,500/MT (US$ 305-320); similar against last week offers; but during the same period billet prices rose by INR 500-1,500/MT to INR 21,200-24,000/MT (USD 315-360) ex-works.
Trade Updates
1. Tata Steel is offering Ferroshots at INR 19,800-20,000/MT & pooled iron at INR 19,500/MT ex-plant. According to officials the company has limited availability of material.
2. Jindal Steels in Raigarh kept offers firm at INR 21,400-21,500/MT ex-plant. However, according to purchasers the same grade material are offered at INR 21,200/MT by traders.
3. Similarly, in Raipur Jayaswal Neco Industries offers heard in the range of INR 21,500-22,000/MT ex-plant. While, traders offers are at INR 21,200-21,400/MT.
4. Jharkhand based Atibir Industries offers up against last price of INR 20,000/MT. The plants current offer is at INR 20,500-20,600/MT ex-plant.
5. Trade sources in Durgapur reported, steel grade offers by Neo Metaliks & Kajaria Iron are at INR 21,000/MT. While, another manufacturer in same place namely, Jai Balaji Steels offers at NR 20,600/MT.
6. Offers almost remained firm in Ludhiana for steel grade at INR 25,000-25,300/MT & foundry at INR 28,300-28,500/MT. According to reliable source trades are average at these prices.
7. NINL last prices of INR 21,500/MT for N1 grade is expiring today; fresh prices likely to declare in the coming week.
