South Africa, the world’s third-largest Pig iron exporter, has exported 28,981 MT Pig iron in Sept’16 according to trade statistics released by South African customs.
South African Pig iron exports have registered a downfall of 4% M-o-M in Sept’16 against 30,095 MT in Aug’16. On similar lines, exports significantly moved down by 31% Y-o-Y against 28,981 MT in Sept’15.
In the first nine months of 2016, the country exported 232,883 MT Pig iron, down by 35.3% as compared to 359,943 MT in the same time period prior this year.
Country’s Pig iron exports majorly directed towards Netherlands, Germany, US etc. In Sept’16, exports to Netherlands remained at 3,000 MT, US at 13,600 MT, Italy 5,000 MT.
