India: Major ERW pipe manufacturer hikes list prices for early-Mar’26 sales

  • ERW pipe prices up by INR 2,650/t m-o-m
  • Near-term stability likely amid limited volatility
A major Indian ERW pipe manufacturer, specialising in hot-rolled coil (HRC)-based products, has increased list prices of its base-grade pipes (25-125 NB, 2.2-6 mm) by INR 1,000-2,000/t across regions for early-March 2026 sales, sources informed BigMint.
Post revision, list prices are at INR 57,500/t ($632) exy-Raipur, INR 59,500/t ($654/t) exy-Pune and INR 59,500/t ($654/t) exy-Delhi, excluding 18% GST. These prices will be effective from 1 March.
Market update
Distributor-level monthly average prices of ERW pipes in Raipur rose by INR 2,650/t ($29/t) m-o-m to INR 58,300/t ($641/t) in February compared to INR 55,650/t ($612/t) in January.
Market demand remained subdued, impacted by the ongoing Ramadan and the upcoming Holi festival, leading to slowed trading activities. Market participants informed BigMint that muted trading volumes kept prices largely stable. However, a price hike announced by a leading producer lent support to trade prices, preventing any decline.
Trade-level HRC prices rise m-o-m
M-o-m, trade-level HRC prices climbed up by INR 1,700/t ($19/t) to INR 53,700/t ($591/t) in February compared with INR 52,000/t ($572/t) in January.
The trade-level prices in India were stable as potential mill price hikes was reported in the beginning of the month that offered limited support, whereas demand remained muted towards the end of the month across key regions due to slow trading activity. However, due to some supply constraints, participants are prioritising stability until clearer signs of demand recovery emerge.
Outlook
Amid the ongoing Ramadan and upcoming Holi festival, the market is expected to remain supported on higher input costs and recent price revisions. However, with demand still subdued and buyers proceeding cautiously, any upward movement is likely to be gradual.
