According to the iron ore production figures released by Ministry of Mines, India’s iron ore production was recorded at 71.21 MnT in first five months of this fiscal (i.e. Apr’16-Aug’16). On Y-o-Y basis (i.e. in comparison with Apr-Aug’15) the figure is higher by 28.5%.
On monthly premises, India’s iron ore production remained stable in Aug’16 and stood at 11.49 MnT. Compared to Aug’15, monthly Indian iron ore production has moved up by 15% against 10 MnT in Aug’15.
Out of 11.49 MnT iron ore produced in Aug’16, 5.29 MnT was produced from the state of Odisha. NMDC produced 1.14 MnT iron ore from its Chhattisgarh mines and 1 MnT iron ore from its Karnataka mines in Aug’16.
