Thailand: Sunset anti-dumping review launched on cold-rolled stainless steel imports

  • Duties established for S. Korea, Japan, Taiwan
  • Importers to lodge cash security deposits till Feb’27

Thailand has launched a sunset review of anti-dumping duties on cold-rolled stainless steel imports from Japan, Taiwan, and South Korea, citing risks of continued dumping and injury to domestic producers.

Sunset reviews assess the risk of dumping recurrence and material injury, under WTO rules, duties may be extended beyond five years if these risks are confirmed.

Country-specific anti-dumping duties-established at 0%-50.92% for Japan, 0%-33.99% for Taiwan, and 50.99% for South Korea will remain secured via CIF-based cash deposits from February 2026 to February 2027 pending the final outcome of the review.

Between 18 February 2026 and 17 February 2027, importers are required to lodge cash security deposits equivalent to the applicable anti-dumping margins, ensuring interim revenue protection and preventing circumvention while the sunset review determination is finalised.

The products under review fall under HS codes 7219 and 7220 series, covering key CR stainless flat categories.
