Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang increased by INR 200/t d-o-d on 24 Jan’26, as per BigMint’s assessment. HMS (80:20) prices were assessed at INR 33,200/t ($362/t) exy. The regional market witnessed active trading, supported by a INR 100-400/t rise in semi-finished and finished steel prices. Additionally, decent buying inquiries for scrap prompted suppliers to raise their offers today.
