Senior IAS officer Mr Ajay Kumar Bhalla was on Thursday appointed as Director General of Foreign Trade(DGFT).
Mr Ajay Kumar Bhalla is an officer of Assam-Meghalaya cadre of 1984 batch, currently working as a additional secretary in the commerce ministry.
He has been appointed as a DGFT in lieu of Mr Anup Wadhawan, who has been appointed as additional secretary in the commerce ministry; as department of personnel and training issued an order.
The main objective for appointing new DGFT is to promote Indian’s exports along with handed over with the responsibility of formulating and implementing the foreign trade policy.
Mr Inderjit Singh straightway working in the Ministry of new and Renewable Energy, has been appointed as additional secretary in the commerce ministry.
