Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang decreased by INR 300/t d-o-d on 6 Jan’26. HMS (80:20) was recorded at INR 32,700/t ($363/t) ex-yard. Semi-finished steel prices in the region fell by INR 700/t in the previous trading session, even as buying activity remained below-moderate. Meanwhile, muted trade activity in the scrap segment prompted suppliers to reduce their offers today.
