CIS: Pig Iron Prices gain US$5/MT after a month's time

Pig iron exporters based in the CIS have raised Pig iron prices by US$5/MT, after almost a month's time as European buyers have returned to market after summer holidays.

Current offers from Ukraine stand at US$385-400/MT FoB Black Sea.

There is no improvement in demand as of now and steel mills are running at lower production capacities for September output.

For October delivery, buyers have been offered Pig iron at US$425-428/MT CFR Italy, but buying interest is quiet low.

According to sources, “Buying activities in Pig iron might remain dull at new price levels as offers are on the higher side and requirement is low”.
