With strong demand for mill scale and iron ore from Chinese importers, Indian exporters have raised their purchase prices in domestic market. SteelMint assessed that current offers for Mill scale of grade Fe 70/68 is hovering around Rs 5,900-6,000/MT (USD 90-92) delivered Vizag port, up by Rs 200/MT from last week.
With rising truck freight charges, exporters are preferring rail as mode of transport. Unlike iron ore, mill scale neither attracts any export duty nor considered for differential freight charge by Indian railway.
According to Indian exporters current offers are at around US$130/DMT CFR China, however buying is largely observed at around US$ 127-128/DMT CFR China i n bulk shipment.
