The ship-breaking melting scrap market in Gujarat’s Alang remained closed today as operations were disrupted following government-announced demolition activity in the region. This move has impacted labour residences and nearby villages, prompting local residents to approach government offices seeking a halt to the exercise. As per BigMint’s previous assessment, ship-breaking melting scrap prices were last assessed at INR 30,600/t on 13 Dec’25.
