Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market fell by INR 200/t d-o-d on 12 December, according to BigMint’s assessment. HMS (80:20) prices stood at INR 30,800/t ($341/t) exy. Trade activity in both semi-finished and finished steel remained sluggish in yesterday’s session which also saw a price drop of INR 100-200/t. Only moderate scrap demand from local buyers prompted suppliers to reduce their offers today.
