As per Japan’s custom data, the nation’s monthly export fell by 2% and import by 19% in Aug’16 against Jul’16.
According to Japan’s custom data, the country’s steel export fell marginally by 2% to 3.51 MnT in Aug’16 as compared to 3.58 MnT in Jul’16. However, yearly steel exports rose by 3% in Aug’16 against 3.42MnT in Aug’15.
During the period of Jan-Aug’16, Japanese steel exports registered a marginal fall of 0.8% to 27.81 MnT in contrast to Jan-Aug’15. About 28.04 MnT was exported in these eight months of 2016.
Japanese Steel Import Down by 19% M-o-M
The country’s steel import fell by 19% in Aug’16 to 0.38 MnT against 0.32 MnT in Jul’16. Whereas on Y-o-Y basis, the nation’s import dropped by 2.7% in Aug’16 against 0.37 MnT in Jul’16.
During the period of Jan-Aug’16, Japanese steel import fell marginally by 1.76% to 2.78 MnT against the same time period of previous year.
