Ministry of Mines (Government of India) has scheduled a conference of power, mines and NRE ministers of states/Union Territories on 7th & 8th Oct’16. The conference is to be held at Vadodara, Gujarat.
Conference with the Hon’ble Ministers in charge of mining department of all state governments and Union Territories has been called by Hon’ble Union Minister of Mines.
Agenda for discussion in conference:
1. Preparedness for e-auction of major mineral blocks – Identification of mineral blocks and their auction preparedness will be discussed in the meeting
2. Setting up of DMF – Status of collection of the money accrued in the DMF funds by the state government and its utilization would be discussed along with the status of projects being formulated/implemented in this scheme
3. Star rating – The mining leases may be asked to fill the online templates for star rating in a month’s time. The training sessions would be organised by the executive committee on the same in all the regions
4. Curbing illegal mining through mining surveillance systems (MSS) – The MSS has been developed for monitoring major mineral leases to check any illegal mining cases. The states are required to get the field verification done of the trigger generated by the MSS within the specified time period of 7 days, through the district level officers
