South Korean Pig Iron Import Up by 50% in Aug’16

South Korea, the world’s fourth largest Pig iron importer has imported 0.03 MnT Pig iron in Jul’16 according to trade statistics released by Turkey customs.

Country’s Pig iron imports have registered a growth of 50% M-o-M in Aug’16 against 0.02 MnT in Jul’16. On Y-o-Y basis, Pig iron imports remained unchanged.

In the first eight months of 2016, the country’s imports were registered at 0.24 MnT, down by 14% as compared to 0.28 MnT in the same time period prior this year.

The country imports majority of Pig iron from Russia and China. In Aug’16, imports from Russia has registered at 0.02 MnT and from China it was 0.01 MnT.
