KIOCL Intends to Purchase 150,000 MT Iron Ore Fines from Domestic Market

State-owned, KIOCL has intended to purchase around 150,000 MT Fe 63.5% iron ore fines (hematite) from the domestic market. The iron ore procured will be used to manufacturer pellets at Mangalore-based pellet plant.

The respective supplier has to procure an equivalent quantity of pellet manufactured by the above-mentioned iron ore fines. Since KIOCL is a 100% export oriented unit, it has to fulfill the export obligations and the successful bidder has to export the pellet produced by KIOCL as a Third Party Exporter.

The company has invited various reputed indigenous iron ore suppliers i.e. Mine owners/traders/stockist to supply 150,000 MT iron ore fines on “Total Delivered Cost” basis at KIOCL pellet plant. It is to be noted that the suppliers who are willing to purchase the equivalent quantity of Pellets produced by KIOCL only need to submit their quotations.

However, the tender will be evaluated based on the differential value of the offer price received for the purchase of pellets and offer price received for the supply of Iron Ore Fines (IOF). The highest differential bid received will be awarded the contract for supply of iron ore fines as well as sale contract for pellets.

The last date for submission of bids will be 03 Oct’16 till 15:00 hrs.
