BigMint’s bi-weekly assessment for Indias iron ore concentrate remained steady at INR 4,700/tonne (t) ($53/t) ex-works Jabalpur.
Indian sponge iron (DRI) prices exhibited mixed trends, in southern India, sponge iron prices inched up by INR 100-300/tonne (t) and in contrast, eastern and central India witnessed a downward correction of INR 50-500/t. Daily trade volumes were estimated at 13,000 t.
BigMint’s billet index recorded a marginal decline of INR 150/tonne (t) d-o-d, settling at INR 34,950/t exw-Raipur. The conversion spread from sponge iron (PDRI) to billets for standalone induction furnaces in Raipur was assessed at INR 12,100/t.
