Indian Iron Ore Production at 59.73 MnT in Apr-Jul’16

Monthly Indian iron ore production falls by 22% M-o-M in Jul’16.

According to the iron ore production figures released by Ministry of Mines, India’s iron ore production was recorded at 11.49 MnT in Jul’16. It is down by 22% M-o-M compared to Jun’16 as iron ore production stood at 14.6 MnT.

However, in comparison to Jul’15, Indian iron ore production has grown to 0.9% in Jul’16.

Indian iron ore production was recorded at 59.73 MnT from Apr’16-Jul’16. The figure is up by 32.5% Y-o-Y as the production was recorded at 45.09 MnT in the same period last fiscal.

Out of 11.49 MnT iron ore produced in Jul’16, 5.29 MnT was produced from the state of Odisha. NMDC produced 0.99 MnT iron ore from its Chhattisgarh mines and 0.93 MnT iron ore from its Karnataka mines in Jul’16.
